Best Way To Solve Any Problem !

I am glad to be blogging about all goodies I get to read or talk to people in my daily life and share on this blog.

I say this with respect to all I communicate and reflect to the thoughts and get to know more of such thought full people across.

Today was really special, as I shared this blog with my Father In Law for the first time as he was here in Delhi for a day visit, and we discussed philosophically on many aspects and the best which I realized was a thought of a child always stating that his father is wrong until one day that child became a father and had a son saying that he was wrong.

Later in evening another interesting thought came from a a close business associate, while discussing the threats of our market, he very well said as "spend One minute worrying about the problem, One hour finding solutions and finally a Day for implementing it."

Cheers to all who can do this ! Really a lovely thought process.

Be Wisely Selfish !

It is correctly said by some one that 'if you must be selfish, be wisely selfish."

Wise people serve others sincerely, putting the needs of others above their own. Resultant you will be happier.

The kind of selfishness that provokes fighting, killing, stealing, using harsh words, forgetting other people's welfare will only result in your own loss.

Spiritual Transformation !

When ever one thinks of spiritual transformations, immediate thinking coming to one's mind is to leave every thing he/she is attached to and move away from the society or the world we are living with.
I quite like the idea of his holiness Dalai Lama, that giving up attachment to the world does not mean that you set yourself apart from it.
Generating a desire for others to be happy increases your humanity. As you become less attached to the world, you become more humane.
As the very purpose of spiritual practice is to help others, you must remain in society.

" Truth Is The Way"

Truth is eternal; truth never changes. Unlike truth, falsehoods vanish in the light of truth … as simply as the darkness vanishes when a light is turned on.

If our lives were truth driven we would be ecstatically happy, satisfied and contented. Instead, for the most part, we are ego driven, doing those things that impress others—doing things that make us appear special and important. However, it’s all a mask, hiding the way we believe and think in our heart.

Life will never get any better than it is when we are living in harmony with truth; thus, the wisdom of noted thinkers:

“Time is precious. Truth is more precious than time.” — Disraeli

“Better than living a hundred years not seeing the highest truth is one day in the life of a man who sees the highest truth.” — Buddha

“Truth is the cry of all, but the game of the few.” — George Berkeley

“Our minds possess by nature an insatiable desire to know the truth.” — Cicero

“Rather than love, than money, than fame, give me truth.” — Thoreau

“There is nothing so powerful as the truth, and often nothing so strange.” — Daniel Webster

“Know thyself.” — Socrates … When we know ourselves, we know truth.

Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. — Jesus

Happiness & Sufferings !

"We have different degrees of happiness and different kinds of suffering.

Material objects give rise to physical happiness, while spiritual development gives rise to mental happiness.

Since we experience both physical and mental happiness, we need both material and spiritual development.

This is why, for our own good and that of society we need to balance material progress with inner development."

The Photographers Prayer

God, as I bring my subject into focus and prepare to make each portrait, never let me forget that I’m creating treasures for some family, a keepsake for loved ones. Make me sensitive to the qualities and virtues of others, that I may draw out into the light the beautiful radiant belongings of their hearts. Help me to be an artist, collecting the beauty of every soul, the glow of youth, the gentleness, the laughter or tears of each life that is precious in Your sight. Deeper than a means of livelihood, give me the perspective to see my photographer’s art as a service to others, making life richer and more memorable. And, dear Lord, between the lights and shadows, the ups and downs and the rolling years, keep me from getting out of focus or off center, so that my life and work may be framed with love and colored by your presence.

The beautiful story of life !

The beautiful story of life does not happen in poses, but in fluid moments. The best "writers of light" know how to capture the truth, be it a delicate scent, the laughter of childhood or a moment that shapes history.

What you fear is what you will draw to you !

Here is another quote that I read through the Forbes Life magazine, in love from Conversations with God. Looks innocuous, but it is actually quite profound...

"What you think is what you get.
What you fear is what you will draw to you.
What you resist, persists.
What you look at disappears - giving you a chance to recreate it all over again, if you wish, or banish it forever from your experience.
What you choose, you experience."

The 3 ways to deal with disturbing emotions

While touring in last 1 month to 5 different destinations for both leisure and business, I have been reading a book name The Way To Meaningful Life by His holiness Dalai Lama.

One piece that I really find useful and insightful in this book is:

"How to deal with disturbing emotions? Buddha advises a concerted three-step attack on this imaginary but tough enemy.

  • First, one should avoid circumstances known to bring about unwanted feelings.
  • If that is not possible, one is wise to focus on their impermanent condition and changing nature: as a certain disturbing mental state was not present earlier and will soon be gone again, it would be nonsense to act it out, thus laying the seeds for future trouble.
  • The highest level is not giving power to unwanted feelings by 'letting the thief come into an empty house'. Here, one stays strictly with what is in front of one’s nose and neither acknowledges nor identifies with any disturbance. As this succeeds, one realizes, ever more consciously and with growing amazement and joy, that painful mind-states do not just vanish into nothingness but actually reappear (…) as insights beyond ego.'"

MEMORY ?

We know who we are and who other people are in terms of memory

Lose your memory and you as you cease to exist.

If I were to believe in this after 26/11, then I would not have blogged this as for me now .........

Memory is a way of holding onto the things you love, the things you are, the things you never want to lose.
